You can request a DVD as if it is a book loan, since it is a "loanable" item. It would help avoid confusion if you indicate in your request that you want the DVD format. Or whether you will accept VHS format.
Videos are problematic to borrow because many libraries do not interlibrary loan their videos. SMU does not loan ours to other libraries.
If the video is available in a large Texas public library, you can expect it to arrive in about a week. If it comes from elsewhere in the country, it will probably be shipped by sloooooow media mail.
If you need a video quickly, your best bet is a local video store or video by mail service such as Netflix.
